Hello friends! I've missed you. I've just been swamped with work since the new year and I'm so thankful. Right now I'm focused on a client who recently purchased a second home "cottage" on a beautiful lake north of Rockford. If you follow me on Instagram, then you've already seen previews of these plans, but I had to share here as well.
They asked for their cottage to feel totally different than their home in Grand Rapids. They wanted fun and relaxing, with a mix of high and low, but comfortable for their kids and guests.
I don't have time to break every room down, but my personal goal was to make the whole house cohesive, giving them the ability to move everything around from room to room as they see fit. Total flexibility for change, depending on their needs for the weekend.
I could die over these pillows and I'm so glad they splurged on them.
Their three daughters will be sharing one room. I kept it light and fun with a splash of modern.
We went with a different table than this, in a warmer honey color, but you get the general idea. They also went for my recommendation of ordering these vintage dining chairs from Etsy. They arrive this week! We'll have them sprayed white and recover the chair pads in a better fabric.
This huge pendant is going to make a great statement on their vaulted ceiling and will allow you to see right through to the lake.
We went with a very long, bench cushion, slipcovered sofa. I can't wait.
Every room has a few fabrics from Leland Gal. Her brand was a perfect fit and we got a firsthand preview to her 2015 collection that has me swooning. I always love her fresh style and patterns.
Thank you, as always, for reading! I hope you're enjoying the new start to 2015. xx
Whether you're near or far, I would love to work with you to create a home you love. Email me at email@example.com for more information on my local & e-design services.
