It's always fun to share progress on my client work. The #modernbungalowproject is a client here in East Grand Rapids that I love. I've written about them here and here. After moving around numerous times to finish schooling and residency, they are finally planted in Grand Rapids with a great house that needed some serious loving care. We've been making many changes!
Thankfully my client often texts me photos of the house and that's the best. Most of these shots are taken by her and a couple by me.
Let's start with the front door. Their home is navy with white trim. Great combo. But the front door, porch ceiling, and back door were acid green. Not great. My client was originally thinking of emerald green (which I love) but we used the minty blue color in her kitchen, living room, and master bedroom, and I thought it would be a great fit against the blue exterior.
You can see the before color here. Eek.
The entryway was painted before and although the original paper I recommended from this board was out of stock by the time we received the sample,
my second choice was well received and now I think I like it better than the first!
The bench is getting recovered in an indoor/outdoor textured gray fabric.
I also recommended this gorgeous wooden lotus mirror and she approved! It's going to be a stunner against the patterned walls.
Moving on into the living room...
Here is a before photo from my client taken from the kitchen. My guess is this was a picture from the listing. Designer tip: don't cover your window with your drapes. Hang them high and wide!
We softened the wall color with a gray-beige.
Furniture and fabrics were ordered.
Their son makes the perfect addition to the room. He's testing out the new chairs before they were in place.
We're close to finished in here, but still waiting on a few pieces to arrive and new art for over the sofa.
The kitchen received a fresh new wall color I recommended along with counters. The walls make the cabinets look better, don't you agree? I love the original wood floors.
Do you remember the nursery design?
His little reading nook looks so cute. Love how it came together. I'm still hoping that the red and white trim will get added to the shades. *hint hint*
I don't have photos of the master bedroom yet, but there are a few details in the bathroom that I just love.
Like the wall color...
And my most favorite towel ring I've ever recommended.
I hope you enjoyed this little progress report. There is much going on behind the scenes at Abby M. Interiors that I don't always write about here. To stay up to date on all the action the best place to follow is Instagram.
Before you go I want to say thank you to the blogs that have mentioned my Bathroom Makeover for the one room challenge! If you shared my bathroom on your site, please let me know so I can say thank you!
