Let's Go Shopping: Retro Knox

Good morning!  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  This is an exciting day at Abby M. Interiors.  If you follow me on instagram, then you know I'm always shopping vintage and antique stores.  I've even written posts on them.  I'm excited to announce that I am partnering with one of my favorite shops, Retro Knox, to bring all of you the vintage goods to make your home personal and interesting.  John Knox, the owner, and I are working together to highlight his best pieces and make them accessible for all. Don't worry, if you see a piece you love and you aren't local, John can ship.

As soon as I saw the lamp above, I instantly imagined it in a masculine home office or a boy's bedroom.  Love the historical bust vibe.

A gold bowl? Yes.  It needs to be dusted, lol, but the low profile makes it great for taking up a decent amount of surface area on a coffee or dining table.  Also great to fill with ornaments at Christmastime.

This lamp.  OMG.  The colors are amazing.  It's vintage from Ireland and I loooove.  Floor lamps are tricky.  They either seem to be incredibly expensive or ugly.  This one I love.

The shape and the lines on this wooden etagere have my heart.  I'd use it in a bedroom, at the end of a hallway, or even next to a piano. Really it could work anywhere.

This table and chair set is just interesting.  I've never seen one like it.  I believe it was handmade and is perfect for a small space like a sun room, a game area in a basement, or a small breakfast nook.  I'd reupholster the cushions but the chairs themselves are very comfortable!

These chairs are Mastercraft for Baker.  Very high end.  V E R Y comfortable.  He's asking $520 for the pair.  If you look up Mastercraft on 1stdibs you will see these are great prices.

Another Baker piece, I believe it's also Mastercraft.  This credenza, looks nearly identical on 1st dibs and they're asking $14,000.  Retro Knox is asking $600.  The dimensions on this piece are 30"H x 51"L x 16"D.

Here's the side view.  The lines on this make me drool...

He also has the matching display case.

If you see a piece you have to have, or you just have questions, please call John at the number listed below.  Otherwise, pop in the store, located within Lost & Found on Century Ave.  Be sure to mention Abby M. Interiors to receive 10% off your purchase!

Exciting news--I'm starting a weekly series on the blog every Tuesday morning, called "Retro Knox Life".  I will take one piece from Retro Knox and design a whole room around that piece.  I'll be able share every source (!) which I can't do when I'm sharing client work.  And this will give you a better idea of how I'd use these pieces in a design.  I hope you come back tomorrow to see how I design around a dining room around the black and gold Baker credenza!

What do you think?  Are you looking forward to this series?  If the vintage vibe isn't really your style, don't worry, I'll be including all types in my design plan.  Local friends, if you find an item at #retroknox please let me know! Just be sure you get your 10% off at checkout by mentioning Abby M. Interiors.  I'd love to see how you style it!
