I hope you're having a great weekend! I'm just popping in to share quick before and after shots from my e-design clients in Alpena.
They have a beautiful, old, colonial house on Lake Huron. Like most people, they are slowly going through the house and making the rooms their own.
You can see the before & after shots of their living room here.
Below is the picture of their dining room before we started. The window valance was left by the previous owner. I think my clients thought it was "fine", which it is, but it wasn't best. They asked me for fabric for a new valance, but I don't always give my clients what they ask for. Because sometimes there's a better option than what you think you need.
Excuse the phone pics, but this is e-design. :-) When we're totally done with their house I'll get professional pics.
What they asked to keep:
*the wall color
*the dining room table
What I proposed:
*new chairs, mixing styles
*double-width drapes on either side of the window
*banquette with pillow
similar seagrass side chair
drapes by Laura Taylor Studio
It may not seem like a huge difference but each subtle change gives the room a totally different feel. And at the end of the day, it's how we feel in our home that counts. I'm so thankful they trusted me to add the drapes!
I think they made the room.
What do you think?
