creating a cozy home for winter

I hope you're staying warm!  We are freezing here in the Midwest; we have tons of snow and temps down to -30.  Blankets have come out of the bedrooms and we're all snuggled up on the sofa.

If you're like me, you may be wanting to cozy up your home for winter, now that all the clutter of the holidays is gone.  Here are some tips to remember.
Think texture.  Faux fur and knit blankets are a must.  Natural fiber baskets hold their shape and help store clutter.  They also add great texture.  Winter can feel stark, so don't forget greenery.  I love to add hearty ferns or succulents around the home.  Finally, nothing makes a house feel cozy like a great smell.  Votivo candles smell amazing without being ridiculously expensive.

Stay cozy, my friends!
