What fabric can you use that won't get ruined by your friend who spills her coffee or your kids who topple their spaghetti? My recommendation is oil cloth, or laminated fabric.  Yes, you read that correctly!

If you look closely, {go back and scroll through those images again if you went quickly} all of the breakfast nooks above have great patterns and colors on their cushions.  I've found laminate or vinyl fabrics for you to try!  Here are some laminated fabrics that could really spice up your mornings and remove any worry about the mess.  Keep in mind these are very large images and the pattern wouldn't look so crazy once it was on your cushion.  If you're leery of so much pattern, try the faux animal skin vinyls or the metallic solids!  Of course, it's always a great idea to hire a designer to pull the whole space together for you and steer you in the right direction.

Just click on the image to be taken to the fabric source.

I had to throw in this solid green, because it's truly my favorite color.

Do you have a breakfast nook?  Have you added any pattern or color? Would you try laminate or vinyl fabrics?  I'm working on a breakfast nook for a client this week and excited to see how it comes together.
