let's catch up + kitchen preview

Hi friends-
I didn't intend to leave my blog for so long.  Let's catch up.  Admittedly, this post won't be heavy on interior design advice, but I thought you may like to know where I've been.

As I mentioned earlier, we traveled up to my favorite town in northwestern Michigan: Charlevoix.  My dad has a condo on Round Lake so we try to visit as much as possible in the summer.
We were basically there for the whole month of July.
{Cue the slew of personal photos.}
You would not believe the colors of the water.  When I see these photos, it's no wonder blues and greens are my favorite colors.

As soon as we got home from vacation my youngest son was quite sick.  That took me out of work for a whole week.  Thankfully he's recovered!  That's all part of this mom gig.  Kids have to come first.

Then we decided to finally give in and adopt a dog from a shelter.  Meet Hazel, our sweet girl.  She's 1 1/2 years old and fifteen pounds.  She has had a rough time in life, and we are super lucky to have her.

One week after adopting her, our vet broke the news that Hazel had SIX puppies in her belly. Yes, you read that correctly.  I adore Hazel but didn't feel confident I could handle puppy birth, etc., so she is at the farm having her babies, and we will get her back as soon as she's done.  We are counting down the days!

On August 6, 2013 my sweet Grandmother went to be with the Lord.  She lived a full 94 years and was anxious to get to heaven to join her two daughters and her husband.  I may write more about her later.  These flowers were from her funeral.
 She loved the color pink.

The best part of her funeral weekend was getting to see family that lives so far away.  These lovely ladies are my cousins.  We had a chance to visit the family cottage where we spent so much time when we were younger.
And my boys got to feel what it's like to love on their big family!

Before the funeral I had one day to do a kitchen photo shoot with Tracy.  I'm soooooooooooooooooooo excited to share the before and after shots with you.  This is a favorite.

Thank you for reading this blog!  My client list is so deep right now and every day I'm grateful.  I'm excited to get back into the full swing of work and share the designs along the way.  HUGS!
