dining room design plan: the Alpena Lake House

There is nothing better than returning clients!  After finishing their living room, my Alpena Lake House clients hired me to do their dining room.  They want to keep their wall color, (Flax via Restoration Hardware) and the large table.  The only bummer is that it's not possible to add a light over the table without cutting a hole in the wood floor of their son's bedroom.  Not happening.
So I'm sprucing up the rest of the lighting in the room, adding more upholstery, and art.
Here's my plan:

This is view #1 as the room looks now.
I'm not sure if you can tell, but their trim is so cream it's nearly yellow.  That's getting painted white.

I did my best to add the new elements to the current photos to give you an idea of how it could feel.  The linen bench would go under the painting.
View #2 looking into the living room:

I'd like to see these mother-of-pearl pieces added to the walls.

Aren't they pretty?
View #3 is looking toward the lake.

I think it would look better like this:
Finally, view #4 is the biggest change.  I want to remove the valance completely, add a bamboo roman shade, and drapery panels to either side of the picture window.

Like this:

What do you think?  Is this a dining room you'd like to spend time in?
