what's happening in our bedroom + sources

Sometimes you just know what you love.
I am loving dots, dalmatian patterns, however you want to look at it.

As far as design is concerned, an animal print is a neutral.  So don't be scared!

You may not choose to cover your walls in spots.

But would you cover your furniture?  Yes.  Please say yes!

I want to use this charcoal dots fabric as
drapes in our master bedroom.
I've ordered a large piece of it, just to make sure it looks fantastic, and then it's going up as fast as I can get it here.  Here is an inspiration board I put together for our room.  It's not exactly how it will look, but pretty close.

Here is our room today.  The nightstand isn't staying because it's not the correct height.  I'll know when I find the right one.  I just pulled that side table out of our living room for this photo.
  I'm sneaky that way.

I've never met a herringbone I didn't adore.

I found a botanical poster I think I'll buy, but I want to hang the drapes first and go from there.  I'm not really using that headboard from my board.  Fortunately, my dad doesn't want one that is in his house so I'm scooping it up.  It's mixed metals...and free.  Who knows.  Maybe I'll spray it black.
But I think the feel of the room is coming together!

Are you seeing dots?  Do you love this pattern as much as I do?

  3. Abby, I love your mix of patterns, colors and textures! It is a master bedroom for both you and your husband. When we were registering for our bedding it took me a long time to find something that wasn't too girly.

Once we're in a house (hopefully sooner than later!), I can't wait to redo our room and put our current bedding in a guest room. I think herringbone might be the winner for our room.

    Thanks for the ideas!

  7. The dots on the walls scare me, because that's such a large amount to have to decorate around - but they DO look great. I really like the mood board for your bedroom! Also, I love that gold etagere in the first photo.

  11. Love the fabric and the entire room! I actually think a brass bed might look really great in there too. I almost painted ours but am glad I kept it brass. Can't wait to see this all finished!

  17. Yes, it's the real thing! I love your bedroom board - green and white is so fresh. And I'm thinking about maybe trying a diy on that dots wallpaper in my master bath. The walls are already painted white and how hard can it be to add black dots? I have to obsess over it a little more - and then maybe try it.
