This was their inspiration. But we've done a slightly different and much less expensive version.
There is an advantage to being a local client. There is an opportunity for the room to evolve, instead of finishing the space in one fell swoop. These local clients wanted a classic living room that could survive two small kids and a dog. They also didn't want to break the bank. We went with a slipcovered sofa from Pottery Barn and patterned, comfortable chairs from Home Decorators. We're using some type of Michigan photography above the sofa...more than likely a photo of the Mackinac Bridge. The room is nearly finished and once it's done I'll be sure to share photos with you.
Yes, it's more blue and sand colors. I must attract people who love blue and beachy colors like myself. :-) The wall the sofa is on has a walkway on either side that shows the blue walls coming through. I think the colors work nicely together.
Is this a room you could relax in? I think they'll have plenty of time to play and catch some football games on their new TV. More to come! This week is full of design boards on my blog.
