Portland living room design board

I have been spending this week working on a few different rooms for my Portland, OR clients.  They have a very bohemian, vintage vibe.  One of the first things they told me was that they were not afraid of using color--so we're going with it.

They're planning to paint their worn, wood floors, white.  I especially love the rug, which is a patchwork of vintage Turkish rugs.  We knew we wanted a green, velvet sofa, so everything else just built from there. I mixed some high-end fabrics and furniture with more affordable options for a more collected look.  The photograph with the word "NICE" against the backdrop of a tattoo parlor is one detail I love.  And doesn't everyone need a painting of an albino squirrel serving a martini?  I think yes.  This room isn't for everyone--but what room is?  I work for my clients
not for the masses.

This design board is only one side of the room, but I hope it's just their style.  Is there any piece of this room you would add to your home?

  1. How fun. I love the choice of a velvet sofa - no matter what color. I just think they need a shiny brass & glass bar cart.
