small changes

Hello friends!  This weekend was jam packed with work.  I made quite a few small changes around the house that had a big impact.  I am nearly finished painting our coffee table.  I am loving it so far!  I added a bit of gold leaf detail to the table and it made a huge difference.  I hope to share it with you later this week.
I will say I'm much happier with the new look.

I also moved my original painting to over the piano in our living room, and placed the wood shim mirror in our foyer.  Here is how it looked on the wall in our living room.  I really liked it there, but now that I've painted the coffee table, I really needed the art over the piano to relate.

How do you like her here?
I love that my mirror carries the color from the hallway stripes all the way to that wall.
It also reflects the morning light back into the hallway.

I admit, she looks better on a contrasting wall.  And it's a fun conversation piece to have when people first walk in.

What do you think of her new location?  {These pictures make me even more anxious to change our kitchen.}  You'll see how my painting looks over the piano when I share the finished coffee table shots.  And get excited: I've made real progress on Holden's big boy room.  Possibly enough progress to share pictures later this week.  Otherwise, I'm happily swamped with client work that I'm going magically finish while it's Spring Break.  Anyone else having a stay-cation? :-)

  1. Love the new location and the way it carries the color into the entry!!

  2. What a cool at pieced you have created - love it! And love that you are adding a little gilt to your coffee table, too (I did the same thing last week!)

  3. I love the new location. Perfect stop for a last minute "look see", as you run out the door.

  4. I'm actually liking it better in the hallway. It does pull the blue from the stripes. Excited to see your coffee table!

  5. I think the new location is great too. It adds a new shape to the hallway and brings in some sparkle and "wow" to the hallway. I also like the view from the hallway into the dining area.

  6. I'm blown away at all the stuff you are getting done! I love the mirror in the hallway, definitely a great tie in to the hall stripes (c: I can't wait to see all your projects and progress!

  7. I love where it ended up. i just started following you, so I'm going to poke around a bit to get a sense of your house.

  8. I love the mirror there too, but I have to say my attention is on the gorgeous light fixture in the dining room. Absolutely stunning!

  9. I think it looks great there! Can't wait to see your room :)
