the cottage project: guest room

Good morning!  Today I'm headed down the street (yes, this client literally lives around the corner from my house) to The Cottage Project.  The walls and ceilings are finally put together, and after a bit of convincing, the wood floors have been stained a beautiful walnut.  I'm nearly finished with paint colors, but I want to see them in the house first.  For some reason, what's really on my mind with the house is the guest room.  Random, I know.  (I've already shared the plan for her master bedroom and hallway.)  Thankfully, Sheri is awesome and willing to go along with my ideas. ;-)

Her guest room is basically all windows.  So my plan is to do her ceiling in yellow and the walls in a white.  White walls look so beautiful in a light filled space!
Now my only decision is is flat or glossy finish on the ceiling.

I think I like the added sparkle of the glossy finish.  But you'll have to come back to see how the room turns out.  Hopefully I'll be able to take pictures of the whole house today to give you a tour.  It has been so full of construction workers and equipment that any photos I would have taken would not do the place justice.
Off to work! ;-)

I was able to get one coat of paint on H.'s big boy room yesterday and I'm loving the change.  Still need to paint the ceiling, then I'll share.

  3. I love a yellow ceiling - I'm sure it'll look fabulous! On a side note, did you notice the walls in the last pic in your post? That wall color looks BAD paired with that fab yellow ceiling. Really pinky-peach. I'd go with a really clean white. Anywho, look forward to seeing your progress!

    1. Yes! Their wall color looks horrible. But I still love the ceiling. :-)

  6. I think I'd lean towards flat for this client. I think the glossy is more of a young/fab look.
