I've been working on a living room and dining room combo that includes a sunken living room. I was even able to find a beautiful inspiration photo from Architectural Digest. I love this tufted sofa.
Amanda's house has vaulted ceilings and she and her husband were willing to add details to the home. I recommend this ceiling treatment. She's up to the challenge!
We are also doing color blocked window panels on the living room window, and the sliding patio door in the dining room. Linen will look beautiful here.
The next three pictures are what Amanda gave me to work from. As you can probably guess, this was how the previous owner designed the home.
You have to really have a vision to imagine how it will look in the end. :-)
We may make a change on the light, but we'll see. They are planning to build custom built-ins on the wall. I recommend a buffet with shelves on both sides, and crown molding to the top. The squares of colors on both boards are the different colors of linen for the floor to ceiling drapery panels. Amanda had a very specific table in mind, and I was able to find it on Overstock.
This is the living room from the previous owner.
Again, use your imagination to see my vision. :-) I am loving the pillows. She did not want a ton of pattern, so i think this works well.
Amanda's husband is a Marine, and they have traveled all over the world. He is getting a fancy recliner all to himself! I also liked the idea of a framed world map on the wall above the sofa and adding white framed photos of their wedding and travels spaced around the print. The walls will be painted "Quietude" by Sherwin Williams. Has anyone used this color before?
I think this will be a great space for a young couple to grow into. What do you think?
