I love this time of year, especially in blog land. Everyone is sharing a home tour and I look forward to a day when I have a few hours to myself to look through the countless pictures of inspiration.
Today, I'm sharing a tour of our dining room "gone Christmas"! This is our first Christmas in this house and I wasn't sure how it would come together because my goal was to spend nothing. I really wanted to use what we already had. I confess I didn't quite meet that goal; I bought Hershey kisses. ;-)
Let's take a look!
I really wanted a wreath to hang on our mirror, but again-- I was trying to not spend money. Then, a Christmas miracle happened! I was contacted by Christmas Tree Market. They offered me a free wreath if I would write a review. Of course I said yes! I kid you not, the wreath is the perfect addition to our dining room and is just the right size for the mirror. (review coming soon)
Again, I kept it simple on the light, but I like it's subtle hint of Christmas.
We have a rounded wall of windows that does not yet have window treatments. (We're still making this house our own after moving in last April.) I added two strands of beaded garland from last year. I love how the blue picks up on the wall color.
Here is the view you see to your right when you walk in our door.
When you're working on a budget, keeping a monochromatic color scheme is helpful. I kept everything either metallic or white. Even the tablecloth is white with a metallic check.
I especially like the room at night. We have a large rotadendrum bush outside our dining room window. It's such a sparkly treat to have dinner with the lights glowing inside and out.
Light at night.
Don't you love the shadows? I swear, that room at night is a sparkle fest. ;-)
Thank you for checking out our dining room's simple Christmas design! And just for good Christmas blog-y tour measure, I'm throwing in a few pictures that I loved from "our living room gone Christmas".
Now I'm off to handle the first real day of Christmas break with two boys. Oh yes, we were up at 5:30 this morning. Thank the Lord for strong coffee! Have a great Monday and I'll be back tomorrow to share the upstairs of Julie's new house.
