Happy Wednesday! This month seems to be flying by. We finally put our Christmas tree up over the weekend and I've been spreading cheer all over our house.
But those pictures and ideas are for tomorrow. ;-)
You might remember that I tried my hand at painting when one of my local clients couldn't find the right piece for over their fireplace. They bought my first painting and are having it framed! Since then, I have painted a piece for our new house. I wanted something for the wall in our entry. You see this when you come into our home and when you're walking back from the bedroom hallway.
I am not a painter, but I do love color. Please be forgiving in your judgement!
I wish I could find my camera and take real pictures, but I'm fairly certain my toddler hid my camera somewhere in the house. (ugh) I must say that it looks so much better in person.
Our living room and hallway stripes are a light blue. My goal was to tie the two rooms together and add impact to our entryway. Is there a room in your home that could use a personal touch? Try painting a canvas! You might be surprised how much you like it.
Oh wow. You did an excellent job with this. Totally fitting.

This is beautiful! Especially in that gold frame.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I love the gold frame. Kudos to you, painting is much harder than it looks!
ReplyDeleteOohhh I really like it!! Love the sort of gradient thing you did! It looks great Abby!!! xo
ReplyDeleteIt looks fab! The gold frame is perfection. I keep wanting to paint something... I even have the canvasses in my storage room, but I keep putting it off. Now I'm inspired again!
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome! You are being way to hard on yourself! The color is amazing and it looks great at the end of the hallway! Keep on painting!

ReplyDeleteIt is stunning! Totally makes a huge impact. I have a spot at the bottom of my stairs that really needs some love and I think I'm going to try this! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is quite the fantastic addition to that wall - the colors are amazing! I'd call the painting Traveling - don't ask me why just the first thing to come to mind when I saw it.
ReplyDeletePretty awesome for not being a painter! It totally pulls everything together, nice execution of your vision!

ReplyDeleteOh wow - I love this- that gold frame is perfect for it too!
ReplyDeleteHow great! I can tell you really have fun creating a painting. Keep it up! I've painted from time to time and it is the most relaxing hobby because you focus only on the painting! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful painting. I love the movement in the way you've mixed colours.
ReplyDeleteAbby, it's beautiful. You aren't giving yourself enough credit. You have a real talent. It's looks great in your entry.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! Love how it repeats the color from the adjacent room.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm impressed and I love the frame.
ReplyDeleteI tried painting a canvas once and it was just plain terrible.
You did such a great job. It looks great with your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful!!! I got my husband a canvas and paints for christmas, I'm hoping he turns out something fab for us!
ReplyDeleteand that light fixture from home depot...seriously?!?!?
Love it - it really picks up the walls in the other room :)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, Abby! It looks so great with your dining room wall color in the background. I painted a canvas for my own home years ago and it hangs above my sideboard in my dining room. You can actually see it in my post today. Not a masterpiece, but I love the way it looks so that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteAhhh I love that you painted that canvas!! So pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI just worked on a painting last night!!
Something I've been wanting to do for a long while!
Feels so great, doesn't it?!
