Brass has made a comeback in a major way, but many of you are still apprehensive.
Give it a chance!
Besides thinking of the work I'm doing for clients, I am constantly dreaming of ideas for the changes in my own home. Lately, I am thinking of these for when we "do" our kitchen.
This example is what made my head spin.
Ikea cabinets and brass hardware make this kitchen amazing. Notice she used a stainless faucet and hood, but tied the metals together with the spectacular fixture over the fireplace. Could you die over the brass baseboards? I wonder what they used. She also has my dream floor: herringbone wood floors. DREAM.
Another example of mixing metals, this time chrome and brass.
I've never seen subway tile with dark grout I didn't like!
I even like the brass with other colors besides white.
Clean, simple, vintage and right up my alley. Although I tend to not have much on my counters.
I am crazy for this light. Crazy.
I love how it stands out against the grey cabinets.
Love this one too.
Here are more stainless appliances mixed with brass and painted cabinets. Love.
Do you like any of these kitchens?
I'm working on two client kitchens right now, soon to be three, and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you! In the meantime, I'll be dreaming about painting my own cabinets, changing the backsplash, and adding new hardware. So thankful I get to do this!
Sidenote: This arrived on my doorstep yesterday.
It's breathtaking in person. I originally ordered it ages ago for our dining room but when I unrolled it in its full glory, the background color is almost identical to our new living room walls! Now I need about six more yards to magically appear. ;-)
