i have a new dining room!!

...well almost.
The lights and walls are done and I love the color so much I want to spend all my time there.
I've used saturated colors before, but this is by far the deepest.  What's interesting is that the room feels brighter now, even with a deeper color.

It all started with this:
my inspiration for our new house.

I just couldn't decide if I wanted "light and airy "or "deep and colorful."
I finally selected this color:
Calypso Blue CC-727
I liked the energy it had and of course the color itself!

In case you need a reminder, here's how it looked before the paint went up.

Now that the entry is white, I love the new walls even more.  The rust red didn't take into account the brown-ish red color of our exterior, or the bright pink flowering bush outside our window.
Calypso blue, however, makes everything look better. :-)

Do you like?
Who's coming over for a dinner party first?!

It's amazing what a coat (or 3) of paint can do. And I love that deep teal that you chose.

  15. Hi Abby. I LOVE the deep color against the crisp white. Such a nice strong statement. The chest will look great in white, and oh how I love round mirrors (like the one that's there, too). Lookin' good, girlfriend!

  20. Your wall color is lovely. I like the way it still reflects the light even though it's a deep shade.
Your chandelier and sconces are beautiful. The addition of a round mirror will nicely complement the shape of your ceiling fixture.
    Great job, Abby!

  27. What a brilliant shade of blue and the white trim and the cabinet when you paint it will really pop against the blue. It's coming together nicely.
I'll be right over ... lets skip dinner and go straight to the champagne to celebrate!
