orange and blue living room: local design board

Welcome back to your week!
Today I'm sharing a local client project I'm working on.
Let's call it (because you know I like to name things) the orange and blue living room.

What?
You noticed that it's beige?
That color is soon to go.

First of all, aren't they so cute?  They have darling children and they're nice to each other.  That means I automatically like them. :-)

They hired me because they knew they wanted a change but didn't know where to start.  They suggested an orange and blue color scheme and I was all over that.  Their biggest dilemma?  How to arrange the furniture.
Should they buy a sectional?  Can they manage to add some bookcases somewhere?

Let's take a tour of the room.
It's really the first space you see when you come in the door.  It's immediately off the entry.
Here they are looking at shelter mags I brought for their inspiration.

See--there's the entryway.  Of course I coudlnt' help but offer suggestions for that space as well. It's so tied into the living room!

I suggested they ditch this mirror and asked if they had a bathroom they could use it in.  By the time the wife came home the next day her husband had hung the mirror and re-painted the bathroom!  He said, "That's why our bathroom always felt like an apartment!"  You never know how a decorator can help you with situations you didn't even realize needed help...but can make you so much happier.

Without sharing too many details of our plans, here is the inspiration board I created for them:
I'm off to meet them to help select furniture and fabrics!
I hope you like the direction we're headed!
