a little can go a long way: local design board

Have you considered hiring a designer for an in-home consultation but wondered if it's really worth it?
Hiring a designer, even for a short amount of time, can be very helpful.

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting with Sandy, a new local client.
We decided ahead of time how much she was willing to spend on my services, and I promised to
do what I could in that time frame.

Here is the space that needs attention:
She wanted to keep the wall color and the new sofa, but was willing to move the new leather chair to a different room.  The sofa is brown not black.

They just moved into this home in December and Sandy was
feeling a little stuck on how to move forward.

We had a great time looking through fabrics and tossing out ideas.

She loved this floral fabric and it looks really great against her wall color.  We decided to use this on the windows, remove her current roman shade, and add sheers.

I came home, watched the clock to be sure I wasn't going over her allotted time, and pulled together this inspiration board.  Obviously this isn't as detailed as it could be, but sets the tone and I hope
this gives her a place to start.

This look really fits their family and their home.
I look forward to showing you the updated pictures when the time comes!
I hope Sandy thinks hiring me, even for just a few hours, was worth it.

Have you been on the fence about asking a decorator for help?
What's holding you back?

  15. The floral & striped fabric would be perfect for my bedroom. I want to sew my own window treatments & pillows. Would your client mind if you shared where they are from?
