new house bedrooms: the "during" shots

I am making progress on our house.  At least now all the bedrooms except the master have the furniture in the correct spot! I thought you might like to see what's going on.

This post is almost painful to share because believe me when I say that SO MUCH will change.  So shield your eyes from the ugly and try to see the potential that I see. :-)  I'm going to refrain from commenting on exactly what will change in each room.  But I will warn you that we're going from best to worst.  The master is actually the worst of the worst, so that will be a separate post!

Do you see any potential?
If you read design blogs then you probably think every room has potential!
The electrician is coming this afternoon to give the estimate, and rooms are being measured for carpet next week.  It's slow going (and expensive, yuck) but at least I know we will be here for a while and I'm grateful!

  2. Abby,s o glad you're in and getting settled. We moved twice in two years (cross country both times!) and know how much WORK it is even to get to the point you're at now. There's TONS of potential there of course. Have fun and take your time. Excited to see what you will do!

  4. I am actually a bit envious...such fun to have a fresh beginning, the ability to take the best of the past house and room and make it even better. I agree with Heather, take your time and enjoy the process. Can't wait to see how all of the rooms evolve!

  5. I'm envious too :) Well, only sort-of. I love my home, and love the fact that I may actually live in one place for more than a year, so I won't complain.
HOWEVER, I see tons of potential and I remember well the exciting feeling of moving into a new space that is just full of adventure!!

  17. You kill me! You prepared us for 50's wallpaper and old orange shag!! The house looks great. You are way too hard on it. We designers are our own worst enemies :). It will be a knock out with you at the helm! In the meantime, you have a lovely new home to be proud of.

  18. Abby, I swear if you get your house done before I do, I'll scream! Those rooms are not bad at all! I really need to post more photos of our 'new-and-needs-LOTS-of-work' house! You will make those rooms fabulous and though I can't wait to see the results, don't feel pressure to get them all done this month...or this year!
