Before we bought this house I said I wanted to be gutsy in my choices. I wrote of wallpapered ceilings, and high gloss walls, but every ceiling in our 70's ranch is textured, and none of the walls are smooth/perfect enough to install lacquered walls.
All that being said, I'm doing my best to drastically change the house through lighting.
Our amazing electrician was here all last week made a million changes. One my favorite changes is to our living room. Or is it a "great room"? This 29 1/2 x 19 room has 9 foot ceilings and we finally added canned lighting. Phew! Let there be light! But our main living space is the
furniture floating in the middle of the room.
I think it might need this acrylic, 5-light, brass chandelier.
Obviously it wouldn't be against dark black walls--but can you picture it?
It looks quite similar to what I was thinking for the dining room, so I may change that one to this.
You can't see the rooms from one another so I think it's fine to mix metals.
Have I totally lost my mind?
Do you agree that the living room light is so ugly it's beautiful?
I think when you have a vision, you should just go for it.
