Candice Olson was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal regarding her color, "tricks of the trade". I was surprised to hear her say that purple is on trend right now.
Some currently trendy colors are lavender and wisteria, a pale tint of violet.

Purple is back? Who knew?
After sourcing the fabric's for this little girl's room I was surprised by all the beautiful lavender and plum fabrics I wanted for myself!
The combination of purple and grey is my favorite of the moment. I also love the punch of orange in this fabric.
But to me, this one steals the show.
I love plum!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Danielle! Just like any color, it's choosing the right version that makes it work.

I have to admit I used to think I would never use purple in my house. Seeing these great pictures makes me think a touch might be pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh the first pic is a real fab one...
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' those purples in there ♥
Pretty purple! Love the fabrics you found!
ReplyDeleteHi Abby, yes, I've been seeing a lot of purple in custom fabric, and it's definitely back in. Funny thing about this color -- over the years, it's been my experience that there are two camps on purple -- those who love it and use it everywhere, including in their wardrobe, and those who don't like it and would shriek at the thought of it. I've never seen much middle ground on this color. Peculiar!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to do lavender and yellow 4, like, ever. Thinking lavender, coral, and grey for a guest room I'm working on. I'm not into purple-purple, though!
ReplyDeleteI've had eggplant sheers in my dining room for years...I'm itching to take them down! :) But those fabrics would make me reconsider.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a purple person... but I do love that fabric with all of the orange in it!
ReplyDeleteI definitely like purple but prefer the lighter lavender- the fabrics you found are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have never used purple in a design before, but the fabrics you have chosen are beautiful. I love really neutral purples almost gray purple.
ReplyDeleteI love lavender- praying my first baby is a girl for a lavender nursery!

Definitely been seeing lavender, but I have a feeling that trend wont last as long as say pink or turquoise. Not so much with the dark purple. Not that it isn't happening, I guess I just haven't been drawn to as many interiors that feature dark purple. I do love an occasional aubergine wall though!
ReplyDeleteWell...there is good purple and bad purple...! But all the ones you found are the good ones :)
ReplyDeleteI love purple, especially with grey. Lovely fabrics and I am dying for the rug in the last image.
ReplyDeleteWould have to say yes after seeing this post. What beautiful fabrics.

ReplyDeleteThat would be a big 10-4 for me on the purple craze! I've definitely been noticing it a lot lately...that Candace usually knows what she is talking about (c: For some odd reason, it's not usually a color I actually ever put in my home...strange. (c:
