I have a confession...
I can not decide how I want our great room to feel in our new house.
I'm fairly certain on the room's layout, but have no clear vision for how I want to design the room. There are just too many options in my head! I think I'm suffering from new house bi-polar. Do I want it dark? Light? Should it feel swanky or comfortable? Leather or upholstery?
It is far easier decorating a client's house than my own!!
One decision I have made is that I know I want to buy American made furniture.
Room and Board has some wonderful options.
Isn't this a beauty?
Made in North Carolina.
I also like this, but I'm not crazy about the legs. The color and the length is amazing.
Made in Virginia.
I've also been looking at Ethan Allen.
That's when I came across their fun style quiz.
Basically, they place two images next to each other and you are asked to quickly click on which one speaks to you first. Which image is more your style.
Of course I took it twice and got different results each time but I think that's because I love to combine looks!
A combination between "Villa" and "Glamour". I think they gave a pretty good description of my style!
The verdict is in. Your style is Villa. Villa is romance reinvented. A high-end "decorator" look. Refined without fuss. Serene yet strong. Pedigreed while also modern. Inspired by French and Scandinavian design. A mingling of carved woods, handcrafted artisanship, and the dressmaker detail.
The verdict is in. Your style is Glamour. Glamour is the penthouse with a view, the old Hollywood mansion, the home of the connoisseur. A knowing marriage of fashion and with sumptuous comfort. A fearless blending of Art Deco, Chippendale, and Modern. Glamour is shamelessly smart, elegant, and timeless.
