I think it's a bit strange that we only spent 45 minutes in this house before deciding to place an offer.
But when you know you know. It just felt like ours.
This isn't our dream home but I think I can make it dreamy. (too cheesy?)

What I don't think I fully realized was how much I wanted to change every...single...room.
I will be planting a money tree in the back yard immediately upon closing. :-)
Before I show you the house, I want to be clear that I realize buying a house is a blessing. Although I dream of the changes I would love to make; I don't take this blessing for granted. As a woman of faith, it was obvious that God was closing doors on the last house we bought. So much went wrong that it was NOT meant to be. This house went on the market around 11:00 a.m. and our Realtor had us inside by 1:30 p.m.. We submitted our offer the next day and everything about the process has been simple so far.
I'm not going to share the changes dancing in my head today. I have to save that for new posts!
Let's get started.
entry
dinning
love the curved window wall
view from kitchen
I'll be watching the boys play from that stove!
hallway leads to garage, mudroom/laundry, and powder room
powder room
the steps you see are to the entryway and hallway to the bedrooms

boy's room #2

There you have it! I'll share the lower level later. All photos from the house were from the MLS.
I hope you enjoyed the tour today!

ReplyDeleteAbby, I love how open it is - being able to watch the kids while cooking is a dream come through!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the boy's room #2 looked liked my husband's room when we started to dating! No joke! Of course, now that has all changed!!!
ReplyDeleteThis house was so meant to be. It has your style written all over it! I think the hardest thing about being in our field and buying a new home is having patience! My money tree only blooms on a whim in the most perfect of conditions! :). Its been a slow process for me, but the result is that I know what I want. Its also incredibly satisfying to DIY. I have know doubt this home will have a gorgrous Abby stamp on it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finding "your house." I look forward to that day, as well. (We're not even looking. . .but someday!) So exciting to dream about all of the changes. Can't wait to see what you do. Looks like lots of great open spaces.

ReplyDeleteCongrats!! that house is huge and nice as is. Doesn't look like it needs lots of work. I'm starting to shop around for houses too. I live in Holland btw :) it's nice to have found your blog, i feel like I'm your neighbor :) ha
ReplyDeleteWhat a great house!! It's unique and I love the kitchen and sunken family room combo. Ranches are the best :) It will be nice to have breathing room, won't it? So happy for you and looking forward to before's and after's! Thanks for the encouragement on our end. We are getting our FOURTH appraisal because, apparently, our other ones did us no favors. One guy from the insurance company is giving our loan officer good vibes...we shall see!
ReplyDeleteAbby, I think this house is great! Spacious yet cozy and I know you want to get in and change every room, but they really aren't that offensive. The bones are good! Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly from here on for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations friend! What a wild and wonderful journey it has been that has led you to this house. I can't wait to see all the ways you put your signature style prints all over it! XO
