before and after: living room reveal

This post has been a long time coming.
Believe me when I say I can barely contain my delight.
The olive (from-the-basement) loveseat is gone.
But
most importantly I have totally changed our living room to be as fabulous as I knew it could
on a tight budget.

Who's sick of seeing this shot?
Here is the BEFORE of this corner.

Then we bought this slipcovered sofa on sale at world market for $300.00 and it has survived a coffee spill and black crayon.  A special thanks to bleach!
This is exactly why I wanted a white slipcovered sofa with two small boys.

I had already changed the art on the wall from the botanical print from Pottery barn (seen in the picture above) to my thrift store find.  Cost? $20.00

But before I revealed the new sofa to you I wanted to find the perfect pillows to tie it all together.
Jen, from Mason Moonbeam, was generous and allowed me to choose these chevron pillows as a thank you gift for your response to this post.

Finally, it looks like this.

This corner went from drab-to-fab with just
 $320.00!
I hope you enjoy the change as much as I do.

  6. WOW!!! I have serious lounge room envy. Yours is looking fabulous. Ours is still beige. Beige beige beige, with a tacky picasso print in a bronze frame, as well as exposed wooden beams in the doorways. Jealous?

PS: I hasten to say - this house is rented.
