home tour for Christmas

I'm so glad you're joining me in a tour of our little house for Christmas!
This rosemary topiary gives our kitchen the smell of the holidays
and it's great for making winterly dishes like stews.

The railing on our stairway is quite short so I have always been hesitant to
decorate it for the holidays.
This year I decided to use the candle wreaths and they were the perfect size.

I just couldn't resist these large ornaments from Target.

I kept it simple and used a continuous theme throughout--plenty of metallics and white.
I'm happy with how our dinning room looks this Christmas.

I added the beaded garland I usually use over our windows to our chandelier along with
a few ornaments for sparkle.

Those gold pears just keep making the rounds!

We are not getting a tree this year because we are leaving for Mexico the day after Christmas.  So I tried to add as much greenery as possible to the rest of the house: especially to this dinning room vingette.

Everyone needs more kisses!

I used more greenery and metallics on the mantle and even added a mirror from
our dinning room to finish off the look.
If you would like to see the step-by-step on how I created this $12 mantle click here.

Merry Christmas!

  1. I am so in love with the whites and metallics. I have never really thought much of the two together before.....but I really really like the look. And I have seen those big ornaments as well, but never thought about what I could do with them. Now I have some great ideas for my house. Thanks!!

  2. Abby, looks great! Love the mix and simplicity of it all! Have a great weekend!

  3. Everything is so pretty! Love the kisses in with ornaments!!

  4. Hi Abby! Thank you so much for coming over and joining the Inspiration Friday party this week! I absolutely love your home and it is just gorgeous all decked out for Christmas. That was a very clever idea to use the wreaths on your bannister and your dining room looks beautiful! I think you could keep it all up through winter because it just has that soft, glittery feel to it. :-) Hope to see more of you in the future!
    P.S. I'm a new follower!

  5. I would not have thought to hang the three wreaths like that, but they are so wonderful, especially with the birds. Terry

  6. You have great style, Abby! hope you have a wonderful vacation...

  7. Hi there~ this is beautiful! I love your decorating style- the three wreaths are so charming together on that wall! Great idea~ glad to have you share this at Feathered Nest Friday!

  9. I adore this Christmas home tour. And...I have to ask...where did you get your dining room chairs? I would love for those to be under my Christmas tree. Everything looks spectacular! I ~heart~ those 3 wreaths...breathtaking.

If you get a chance...link up to my little sleepover party. I am off to check off more of your lovely blog.

  10. It's all so beautiful. I think we must be kindred spirits - I went a little crazy at that same bin of metallic ornaments at Target and will quite possibly be in line for their after Christmas clearance. Too much of those birds is never enough!
