better after:my mantle switch

Sometimes you need to live with your design for a day before you truly get it right.  I wish I would have done this yesterday, but better late than never!

before my midnight revelation:

I had this mirror decorated in my dinning room when I realized that at least for now it belongs on my mantle. The extra white and reflection from the mirror is just what it needed!
This is another example of how you should never be afraid to move around what you already have.  You could be walking by the perfect piece for your space every day!

Click here for the step-by-step on how I created this $12 mantle.

Thanks for reading!  If you enjoy my posts I hope you take a moment to "follow" in the side bar.

  1. it looks so much better. sometimes all it takes it a little re-arranging from around the house. i think i change something almost everyday!

  2. Wow, I love the change, it looks beautiful!

  3. I thought it looked great before, but this is even better!! The mirror is so perfect there with the wreath. I do that too, in fact, my stairs are even getting a little makeover:)

  4. both are pretty but this one stands out more than the other! love it!

  5. I like both of them but do think this one is better! Great job!

  6. Thanks ladies!! It makes me happy everytime I see it.

  7. Abby, I do love the mirror and wreath. What a festive difference it makes.

  8. Yes...like I always say...sometimes designs change :)
Love the mirror for the holidays!

  9. I love all that white against the blue wall. Bravo on the mirror -- the perfect addition. Isn't it amazing how, when we are obsessed with design, we never stop thinking about it, and don't rest until we get it right? It's exhausting sometimes, but totally rewarding!

  10. Love the addition of the mirror and wreath...just the right touch!!

  11. The mirror is just gorgeous great addition.

  12. Two thumbs up to the transformation!!

  13. Yes, I love the mirror. I did the same thing with our mantel this holiday season.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog! Your's is darling!
