Turquoise Islands

Remember how our house is for sale?  Well now my mind is racing with ideas for our next place.  I have decided that we need a turquoise island in our kitchen.  Well "need" is an exaggeration, but "want" is probably more appropriate.  I've started collecting images of painted islands, just to support the idea, in the event My Main Man doubts my creative juices!

(These images can be found on House of Turquoise.)

So what do you think?  Would you do this in your kitchen?  Which one is your favorite?
XO,

  1. I love the idea! My fave design, above, is the super modern one - with the chrome bar stools and the sleek white counter.

  2. Ah yes. This was becoming popular when we remodeled the San Carlos house (not the turquoise necessarily, but the non-matching island theme). I really like the mod picture. That's the first time I've seen this idea work with anything other than the french-country/PB look.

  3. Not sure I could go turqoise in my house but I like the idea of painting it a fun color :) Wonder if my husband will notice. . . .

  4. I love the idea of a different colored island! Your inspiration photos are great! Hopefully your "main man" will latch onto the idea. You go girl!
